This just in from the U.S. Attorney’s Office: A federal grand jury in Dallas has indicted a 35-year-old Ennis man named Jerry Wayne Valek on three counts of production of child pornography. He’s been in custody for about a month, and according to the indictment, Valek spent more than two years — from September 18, 2008, to December 14, 2010 — getting three young men to send him sexually explicit photos for “lascivious exhibition.”

I’ll spare you the details of the federal indictment — suffice it to say, there were a lot of photos taken using cell phones and mirrors. And how’d Valek get the boys to send him their photos? Says the U.S. Attorney:

Valek, using the name of “Jessica Villerra,” [represented] himself on his Facebook profile to be a 25-year-old Dallas resident [and] enticed three young men, under the age of 18, to send sexually explicit images of themselves to him.  The “Jessica Villerra” Facebook account has more than 450 registered “friends,” a majority of which are male minors that Facebook indicates are current high school students.

If convicted, Valek faces a max of between 15 and 30 years in prison for each count, a lifetime of supervised release and a $250,000 fine.
